Growing forests for clean water is the goal of the James River Buffer Program. Through the James River Buffer Program, the James River Association (JRA) and the Virginia Department of Forestry (VDOF) are working working with landowners across the Middle James Watershed on restoring or creating forest buffers to improve the quality of our local waterways.
Who is Eligible
Landowners in the Middle James Watershed (primarily Amherst, Nelson, Appomattox, Buckingham, Albemarle, Fluvanna, Goochland, Cumberland, Prince Edward, Powhatan, Amelia, Nottoway, Chesterfield, Henrico, and Hanover counties, and the City of Richmond, or portions of these counties) are eligible.
